Process 8

I planned on putting my painted C on as this week's process, but I forgot to take pictures of it. Instead here's the experimentation I did for Form and Comm.

Inspiration 8

I was thinking about a future business card and came up with what felt like an original idea. I Google Imaged it only to find out everyone and their gardner already has one. But this site has some creative business cards. http://www.allgraphicdesign.com/graphicsblog/2007/11/the-coolest-business-cards-use-of-cool-shapes-textures-creativity-talent/

Inspiration 8

This image was created by unwinding a casette tape and then laying the ribbon out to create an illustration. It's a neat idea.

Inspiration 7

This is just bad ass.

Process 7

A page from my book. I haven't added the design I have in mind yet. Just text layout so far.

Inspiration 6

This the winning logo in the American Design awards on http://www.americandesignawards.com/annual11.html. It's a pretty clever idea, along with many of the other winning works.

Process 6

I've finished my C, but this is the frame for it. Unfortunately I had to make it proportional to a Bold Helvetica C in order for it to fit me correctly. At least it still looks like a C.

Process 4

This is the start to the background for my green drop cap.

Inspiration 4

I was searching designers on gigposters.com and came across the name of one of my uncles who's an artist. He has two posters on the site. One of which is this one.

Inspiration 2

I hope to find time to make a poster similar to this.

Process 2

This is just a page from my sketch book of some ideas and quick drawings of my possible 3D drop cap.

Process 1

This is my first week drop cap. I'm currently working to make it look more like an M and to maybe make it look slightly more disgusting.

Inspiration 1

I've always had a slight interest in Graffiti Type, but a lot of times it comes across as sloppy and muted. However, this installation piece is vibrant and even though it's 2D, it appears as if it's entering the viewer's space. I would like to insert something similar into one of my works this semester.
